----> Moving Too Fast? ---->

Hello Everyone! I am headed back to NYC for a couple of weeks and then off to Iceland and the UK to be with our Lovely Goddess, Angela Stokes... For those of you who don't know, we have applied for a fiancee visa for Angela, so we can get married and start living together in the US. This process is going along very smoothly and I feel we are just a couple of months away from her being back in the US, permanently. Soon after, I am sure we'll be doing a lecture tour around all of the States.

Do you know what Angela did for this picture??? Inspired by Ann Wigmore, Angela cut open a beet and used it as lip stick. YUMMY!!! Ann Wigmore also put the beet liquid on her cheeks as a blush. I asked if I could make up Angela's entire face and she said OK!!! I am going to get some blueberries for eye shadow and sooo much MORE!!! FUN!!!!

Quick Recipe!

I know those Apple Mulberry Recipes that I put on my blog are just 'OUT OF CONTROL' YUMMY... However, those are a bit high in sugar and can cause gas. Therefore, I have another recipe that I would like to share with you that I have been eating every day recently. It's quite a bit less sugary than the Mulberry meal and is AWESOME. Drum Roll Please...

Blend 2 Fuji Apples
Add the following to the Blended Apples and mix:
1/2 Tablespoon of Cinnamon powder
Small handful of Goji Berries
3 Tablespoons of Flax seeds (ground)
2 Tablespoons of Nut Butter (I have been using the Pine Nut Butter)

Not only does the cinnamon make it taste more SUGARY, but it is also '0' Glycemic and actually helps with balancing the blood sugars! The flax helps with slowing the sugar absorption and helps the meal move right through me. I feel it is a really 'clean' and satiating meal. I love it!

I was reading Paul Nison's latest book, The Raw Food Formula For Life and I felt compelled to include this quote from his book here:

Nobel Prize winner Alexis Carrel was able to keep tissue cells alive indefinitely. By supplying needed nutrients and clearing away waste, not only did the cells survive, they also showed no signs of deterioration. Dr. Carrel kept a chicken heart alive for twenty-nine years, and it seemed it would go on forever as long as he continued to do those two things. When he failed to wash away tissue excretions in a timely manner, he would notice that the cells had lower vitality and deterioration. The heart finally died when a co-worker failed to clean away the excretions.

OH MY GOD!!!! If this doesn't convince you that Juicing and Colon Hydrotherapy are the two most beneficial things for the Human Organism, then NOTHING will!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-P

Jenny wrote: There has been a lot of talk about how bad it is to not eat at night. Do you think it is bad to eat at 7 - 8pm?

For the last couple of weeks I have not eaten past 2:00 pm (Inspired by Paul Nison and his new 'No Dinner Diet' book coming out later this year). I plan on eating this way consistently. I have so much to talk about here, that I don't want to get into the MASSIVE benefits of doing something like this right now.

Do I recommend stopping eating past 2pm? For most people, probably NOT! I am pretty sensitive as I have been on a 100% Raw Food Diet for almost 9 years now, while doing internal cleansing. This is where it has taken me. As you know, I love to give you the perspective of both sides (ups and downs), so here we go...

For every permanent dietary improvement you make for a LONG period of time, you can't go back without digestive discomfort. Your body will adapt to what you are doing or not doing. For example...

  • If you stop eating refined sugars and processed starches COMPLETELY for 1 year, then those foods will become more damaging to you and you won't feel good when you eat them.
  • If you ate at midnight EVERY evening and improved the situation by eating at 11pm for a year instead, then you will feel more discomfort if you eat at 12:00 again.
  • If you decided to consume ONLY blended foods for 1 year, then your body would have an issue digesting solid food again.

Now don't get me wrong, every permanent improvement you make, you will 'become younger', regenerate more and feel GREAT! If you go on a 100% Raw Food Diet, even if you take that step from the point of being a 'healthy' vegan... that is a HUGE dietary improvement. Going on a Raw Food Diet is a BIG step and you are going to cleanse, regenerate, heal and become younger for many years to come.

When I first went 100% Raw, I would eat two large meals a day and my evening (7 - 8:00 pm) meal would contain two - three large avocadoes. I did that for 4 - 5 years without much digestive discomfort! I was able to get away with that sort of thing because it was such an improvement compared to the cooked food diet that I was previously on. After year five, I detoxified, became cleaner and 'caught up' with my current diet. My body started to demand that I improve my diet. After the two - three avocados, I would get very tired and I would wake up the next morning with my nose pouring mucus. After 9 years of being 100% Raw, I generally eat a half of an avocado at the most in the space of any given day.

I feel that for optimal health it is ideal to AT LEAST eliminate the foods that cause disease, which are outlined in the article I wrote called "How to go Raw?". I feel that once you reach a balanced healthy raw diet, there is no need to rush things along. I had a great time eating 2 - 3 avocados in one meal without any digestive discomfort. It was fun!!! My body won't allow me now to 'party' with food like I did in the past, without uncomfortable digestive distress.

There are hundreds of people who are not 100% Raw and decide to juice fast for 3 - 5 months at a time. When you do something like that, you do so much cleansing that it is like fast-forwarding the process. If I would have done a massive juice fast like this when I first went 100% Raw, there is no way that I could have then gotten away for 4-5 years afterwards eating a few avocados at a time without digestive discomfort. Going 100% Raw is like going on a 'fast' in itself, because you are eliminating all foods except for the most water rich foods out there, which also happen to be the LEAST damaging to the body.

Most of the time, my recommendation to younger people who want to embark on a long-term juice fast is to just do a 100% Raw Food Diet 'Fast' to begin with.

Don't get me wrong; juice fasting can be EXTREMELY beneficial. For example, I have a friend who has psoriatic arthritis. He has been taking cancer drugs for years now to calm the "symptoms" down. Every time his body tries to rid itself of all the drugs and disease, it is interpreted as him 'getting sick with the flu' and the doctors raise the dosage of drugs to suppress it once again. If he wanted to take the 'lightning speed trip' to recovery, a SUPERVISED juice fast with internal cleansing may be extremely beneficial for him. Many younger people seem to just be intrigued with the 'status' of doing a long-term juice fast and they don't often really understand what they are getting themselves into. If you understand and are prepared, then more power to you...

So... The point of all this is that as the years go by, there is no need to stress out and rush the detox process. Slowly make improvements, as your body asks for them. This will happen naturally, as you become cleaner and cleaner. Before you know it, you will be eating very little food if you truly listen to your body. If you feel good eating at 7 - 8:00 PM, then go for it. If you stop eating at 2pm daily for a LONG period of time, then there is a great chance that you will have digestive comfort if you eat after that time in the future. If you listen to your body CLOSELY, you will know when to take it to the next level. The message might even be to eat less food, rather than to eat earlier. Both eating less food and not eating as late, can be considered extremely beneficial (even 'hardcore') improvements to any dietary lifestyle.

The City of Los Angeles is encouraging Composting?!

I have been staying at my mom's house for the last week and she showed me a flier from the city of Los Angeles. As I read it, my eyes popped and my jaw dropped!

LA city is helping people to get started with composting!!! They are offering 'Smart Gardening Classes' and subsidized Compost Bins, for about 75% off. The City of LA is also giving away free five-gallon shade trees funded by the department of water and power to the City of LA residents. To receive a free tree, you must attend a workshop, pledge a plant, care for and work to ensure it successfully grows. They are also offering worm bins and biostacks for easy turning at VERY low cost.

This is DEFINITELY a POSITIVE Conscious shift in helping our planet! To learn more, you can check out their website HERE!!!

Love your blog. I'm having trouble reading this post though. Was there a formatting error? I'd love to be able to read all of it.

Question: Is it necessary to add oil to my green drink first thing in the morning or will I get all the healthful benefits of the green juice without the oil to assist absorbtion of fat soluble nutrients?
