What I strongly dislike is when people tell me that religious commandments from G-d and the one commandment that has had the strongest impact in keeping our people together as a surviving nation over the past 6000 years is "archaic" and "barbaric". This guy is going to come around with his "ideas" and negate the words of the Torah! Jewish women please dont listen to this!
G-d is loving and has set up circumcision as a covenant for His people. During the holocaust and in Russia during communism when it was illegal and dangerous for circumcision to be performed Jewish people risked their lives to perform this Mitzvah. There are many stories of miracles because of Milah (circumcision).
If you are not Jewish then no matter, no reason to do it. But to call such a holy thing Barbaric is outright disrespectful. It has a place for eternity, and will always be performed. And believe me I know plenty of big families, it doesnt affect anything. Jews are compassionate and loving and succesful people. They dont have hang-up's resenting their mothers! I'm talking about religious and not steriotypical NY comedy here. I circumcised two boys and they are fine, normal, happy kids.

Not all Jewish people believe in circumcision. Brit Shalom is an alternative naming ceremony to celebrate the birth of baby boys to Jewish families. These sites are all run by Jewish people opposed to circumcision:

firstly i dont understand why God lost the 'o' in your comment?

i got to agree it is barbaric and it was mans decision to remove the foreskin not Gods.

Religion is stupid, I am glad it is finally leaving the planet.

I don't think that religion is leaving the planet as much as it is transforming to be much more accepting and universal. I attend a Unity Spiritual Center where we honor all religions and believe there are many paths and only one God.

Both my brother & husband were circumsized as adults and they can tell no difference. My husbands' decision was medical because the forskin tore while having sex.
Matt, the most important thing for you to do is to Love your body, dont think about "what if..." cause the worry will cause more problems, yes it is unfair that mothers will make this choice for theirs infant sons, however know that some men make the decision as adults too.

You can restore the foreskin with non-cirurgical procedures:

I personally do not wish cirucumsize my son when and if I have them. Number one reason: yes it hurts the baby! Number 2 reason: There is no reason to change the perfect natural state to the uncirucumsized penis or any other part of the body

And to the authur of the first comment, I don't think anyone was trying to attack the jewish faith or say any negative about jewish people but I am sorry you took such offence. But try to understand that not all people believe that to be a commandment. For instance I do not believe that god would have us do anything that would cause suffering to another.

RELIGION IS A BARBARIC PRACTICE

Anonymous said...

All I'm saying is that to call it barbaric is offensive. We have a tradition and a commandment that goes much farther back than the enlightenment. The enlightenment sparked the holocaust. As soon as we AS JEWS forget our religion history and traditions we lose everything as a people.
If you are not Jewish there is no reason to perform a circumcision and feel free to go about your beliefs. I have no problem with that at all. But for a Jew to try and substitute a brit milah for a naming ceremony is saying I don't trust that G-d know what He's doing and I'm taking my beliefs which are better than His infinite wisdom in my own hands. And believe me if an adult man decides that he wants that covenant later in life and his parents didn't give it to him THAT HURTS LIKE HELL! Baby's get over it in a few hours at the most. Remember I have given two boys ritual circumcisions with a mohel and I know what I'm talking about.
And if you dont like religion that's your prerogative but please don't insult me for it. You have not received kundalini or spiritual awakening and that's a shame.
oh and the reason I leave out the "o" is because we don't write the Holy names in certain circumstances.

muslims and jews dont like each other right ? they actually are taught to hate each other and do random hateful act toward each other in the name of what ever it is they believe in call me crazy but that dosnt seem very spiritually enlightened to me... it seems very cold blooded and ignorant

I was pressured to circumcise my son... wish I never did, it IS barbaric, not even REMOTELY holy.

Ok All this talk of religion is way off what Daniel Vitalis was talking about. Most of us all understand history or maybe not.

Great topic thanks Matt & Angela.

Infant circumcision is barbaric. I was circumcised shortly after I was born. I really wish my parents had left me intact. I noticed a decrease in sexual satisfaction when I hit my 40s. It was taking me longer to ejaculate and it did not feel as good as it used to. I am restoring my foreskin and the difference is amazing. Both my wife and I can tell a big difference and we really enjoy my foreskin, even if it is a restored one.

Get it straight please, Radical Islam hates Jews and anyone else who don't believe as they do. Jews just want to be left alone. They aren't the ones climbing onto buses or airplanes with bombs strapped to their chests.

here's my two cents: http://tinyurl.com/ycxhwwr
...it's not just about biology and it's not just about an historical "physical covenant," "mutilation," "barbarism," et al. By that I mean -- are you aware of what circumcision actually means...? You might be surprised.

THANK YOU DANIEL!!! :) xo

I have 2 boys, neither one of them circumcised ...

I give gratitude for my mother not circumcising my brother and for communicating with clarity the torture she witnessed the other baby boys experiencing when she was in the hospital giving birth to him.

Absolute nonsense to think that this act was sanctioned by God...

Be feral, be free, and let the body be as it comes!

I'm a 41 year old woman and althow i enjoy having sex with my housband, i'm disapointed for the fact that i've NEVER had an orgasm. I hear that for many women it just comes natural , but sadly it isn't my case.

Althow i know many women have the same problem, and my comment is of no surpise to anyone, i want to do my best and find a solution.

I've been thinking that maybe my housband isn't as tender and loveable as he should, but curiosity has never pushed me so far as to cheat on him with another man. Should i? Could change be a solution?

I've tried all sorts of pills and aphrodisiacs, but nothing so far...

If you have any advise, please reply to this comment. I've just started posting for a couple of days, so i'll be checking in often :)

Thank you!

This is wonderful, and I'm so glad people are finally talking about this.

It makes me wonder, though, if women absorb energy from men when they orgasm, do women absorb energy when they orgasm alone via masturbation???

Well here is the funny part. First of all having sex is not a spiritual experience, it can be extremely blissful and pleasurable but when people call it spiritual it just shows their ignorance. The fact is that meditating on the sound current is spiritual and the interesting thing is that by refraining from sex your capacity to go inside into the spiritual realms during meditation is more likely because the sexual fluids act as a kinda flying blanket that carries you.

So I wish that I could say Matt Monarch has something to say but I never get anything from him. I remember when he was just starting out with Paul Nisson, Fred Besci and Matt and when they visited Houston and stayed at my friends house, Paul and Matt were so unappreciative and arrogant. It was obnoxious.

Daniel Vitales I like because I found him to be sincere and a real thinker, I don't agree with all he has to say but I will always listen to him.

Ok Matt blaaaah, Daniel Whoo Hooo, and well circumcision, well it is another jewish conspiracy which I can say because I am jewish.

Cheers,

ACR

Came across this by accident, but studied historical circumcision in depth regarding Jewish religious practice. It is proof that they really were in Egypt (for those who say the Exodus never occured/that they never were living there). Circumcision was an Egyptian practice relating to worship of the Sun god! There is an intersting discussion here http://www.domainofman.com/forum/index.cgi?noframes;read=187. Incidently, other sun worshipping cultures also practised it as a fertility rite, but the bible specifically links it to fertility as well (in Genesis chapter 17, almost the whole chapter), not just for people but in a poetic sense even for fruit trees to yield more fruit (in Leviticus chapter 19, verses 23-25). Judaism has retained the practice of circumcision but lost its original meaning.

now you put a real interesting theme, this is maybe one of that taboos with years in the society, many women say that men are unable to make wome reach to this climax, for the contrary there's other that say the opposite thing.
